Wedding Ceremony Sound
We will set up and operate a small sound system consisting of 2 x speakers, a mixer and microphones. We recommend a cordless lapel microphone for the minister/celebrant and one for the bridegroom. We do not recommend a microphone being necessary for the bride as the microphone on the bridegroom will also pick up the bride when required. The microphone volumes are controlled by our operator and are only turned on when necessary. A cabled microphone on a stand is also made available for any readings from invited guests.
We also have the ability to connect additional microphones and instruments (guitars, electric piano, etc) or play backing tracks through the system if required
A CD player is included with the system and also an input for an ipod.
Our suggestions are for background music 15-20 minutes before the ceremony start time as your guest arrive and are awaiting the arrival of the bridal party. Special songs for the following times during the ceremony are also suggested.
- A song for when the bridal party walks in.
- A song for the signing of the register.
- A song for the end of the ceremony.
These songs can be either on CD or Ipod or performed by musicians. These are songs that you should choose and if using CD ensure they are copied as CD audio not as an MP3 file. Please provide on disc no later than 24 hours before the ceremony.
Background music following the ceremony helps to set the mood for what is most often the time for drinks and nibbles and photos. The microphone is also available for the photographer or more often the MC to call the group photo to order and advise your guests of the timetable of proceedings.
We offer a good selection of background music and are also happy to play any music you may wish to provide. Live music is also an option to consider for this time.
Your wedding music and sound can be tailored to your requirements. Our experience has taught us to be flexible, and we are happy to provide what is necessary to suit your needs.
Wedding ceremony sound is for the benefit of your invited guests. In an outdoor environment any unamplified speech can be lost to the wind, the birds, the boats on the lake, the traffic, or simply the wide open spaces. Your invited guests expect to hear your spoken vows and your wedding video is complete when it has a sound track.
Wedding Reception
We will supply and set up a suitable sound system with microphone and lecturn for your speeches. We will also provide a CD player or ipod /laptop connection for playing background dinner music. We offer both the option of our sound operator or the choice that you nominate an operator from your invited guest list.
DJ Service
Because your wedding guests are generally aged between 10 and 100 they are possibly one of the hardest crowds you’ll ever have to entertain. Easy you might say, just make sure the bar doesn’t run dry and the music is not too loud for Nana and everything will be fine. Yes that might work, but if your idea of a good party is your guests on the dance floor and having a singalong to all the classic hits from yesterday and today, then I suggest you take a look at our DJ playlist. We operate more like what a DJ used to be. All our music is playlisted and you and your guests are invited to make requests on the night. Bride and Groom can make pre requests via email if preferred. We will also play any music you may wish to provide either on CD or ipod. It takes two for this style of live Jukebox DJ and Jan takes care of the requests while Grenville ensures the music is non stop and that the requested songs are appropriate for the occasion.
It’s your party and they are your invited guests. It’s your choice how you entertain them.

Sound and Lighting Equipment Hire.
We have been operating a sound and lighting equipment hire business in Wanaka for the past 20 years. We have an extensive range of sound systems for DJ’s and bands, equipment including drums kits / bass rig / guitar amplifier / keyboard / electric piano / microphones. Ideal if your band or DJ is having to fly to perform at your wedding dance.
If you choose to use your ipod as your music option then we can provide a suitable sound system for the venue and number of guests.
Our lighting hire department includes a full range of fairylights including fairylight curtain effects for indoor and outdoor application, LED par cans offering endless colour choice. Coloured spot lighting with dimmers. Mirrorballs, ropelights, dance floor effect lighting, UV , bubbles , smoke , we can even make it snow on your wedding day.
We will deliver and install.
Staging
We can provide up to 5 carpeted staging units of 2450 x 1850 x 350mm (H) each. These are ideal for your band or DJ.
Projector and screen.
It is worth considering the possibility of a projector and screen for a slide show presentation either from a laptop or DVD. We have a variety of screen size options up to 4.3 metres wide. If you have a small guest list then our 40” LCD TV is a very compact option.
Generator
We have a Honda 2 KVA ultra quiet generator especially suitable for ceremonies that are out of reach of a power connection .

We understand that on your special day there may be something out of the ordinary or unique that you may wish to happen. We specialise in special requests. If we can’t help you then we will put you in contact with the person that can.
